A Live, Organic Plant
Sourced from local, organic farms we’ve visited and trust. We pick based on your setup, time of year, preferences, and our stock.
Eco-container + Saucer
Our containers + saucers are made from naturally dyed rice hulls (no plastic), and come with proper drainage – so key.
The Right Kind of Premium Soil
Different plants need different things. We give you the right kind of soil for specific plant in the amount you need it. Top shelf stuff.
The Right Kind of Mulch
Mulch reduces the amount you gotta water and can keep your plants healthier. We send you the best mulch for what you’re growing.
Your offline cheat sheet for how to take care of your plant, issues to watch out for, and what to do with your harvest.
Our members-only app has localized plant guides, extreme weather alerts, recipes, and 1:1 “Plantforce” support.
We’ll help troubleshoot your plant and if it’s a goner in its first season, we’ll hit the Reload button and send a new one.
Currently, Gardenio picks for you based on our PlantMagic logic – a triage of what’s in season for your area, what’ll work in your setup, what we got, and what you’ll like. How do we know what you’ll like? When you check out, you’ll fill out a section called “My Tastes”. This allows you to opt out of any plants you hate or to which you have an allergy (i.e. cilantro soap people). You may get a standard herb (i.e. Italian Basil) or you may get something more adventurous (i.e. Cinnamon Basil). The mystery is part of the fun.
For now, we send herbs and some greens. We currently have 14 species of plants (i.e. “Rosemary”, “Thyme”) and, within that, over 100 cultivar varieties (i.e. “Forestel Rosemary”, “Lemon Variegated Thyme”), some of which bring truly unique things to the table. That’s 15+ varieties of basil, 10+ kinds of mint, over 8 oreganos, etc. While it may taste the same or similar, you won’t see these unique varieties in a supermarket. Dang, you’re so hip!
We’ve developed a special way to ship plants to keep them safe in transit, but not everything always works as planned. Send us a photo in the app as soon as possible. Most of the time, the plant is just a bit roughed up, but totally recoverable. If it’s not, we’ll send a new one on us.
We do send live plants, so you’ll want to open it as quickly as possible. We’re currently shipping on a weekly basis and boxes usually arrive by the end of the week. Be sure to sign up for SMS delivery alerts if you think you may not be home when the box arrives!
