A members-only app built for the new gardener, connecting you to the localized info, tools, and people to be successful till harvest and then again.
Hey, I’m Chelsea. I built the Gardenio app. Both Roman and I have a bit of a distaste for traditional tech thinking and tech culture. We think apps should enhance our relationship to nature, not interfere with it or try to quantify it. We don’t think plants should be treated like just another gadget, so we deliberately don’t use sensors or have you plug anything in. Wanna be connected? Connect to nature, friend.
We harvest plants, not data for advertisers (zing!). We want you to make friends, but we don’t want to push you products that make you feel like you need anything other than what you have around you already. We have what we need to be happy. Plants remind us of that.
If we’re hitting our mark, we want Gardenio to feel like a walk in the garden sometimes, and like a party with smart, interest folks at other times. But our app will never be a replacement for just sitting beside your plants, and just breathing, just really looking. We honor our relationship to our food, our neighbors, and ourselves. Enjoy.
Listen, don't kid yourself, you've probably already spent hours googling what to grow, when to grow it, how to grow it, hot to water. Stop it. We've brought all of it in one place, and are making it more contextual every day.
What do you do when a heat wave comes through? When it's storming? Before and after a freeze? We'll let you know what's coming and what to do about it.
The food you grow is more nutritious and categorically more delicious than storebought, so we've collected food and beverage recipes across cultures (respectfully) to help you explore and highlight your plants.
Available for a limited time: you can reach out directly to Gardenio plant experts to be like 'what is this?' and 'is it dead?' and we'll help ya solid like. We love this stuff.
In its early days, but we'll send you notifications on what to do for your garden that day, whether it's watering, pruning, or other equally exciting gardening activities.
